The Story Behind

UMA PERUVIAN CANTINA

Dear Friends and Valued Partners,

Hospitality design is about creating spaces that bring people together. UMA is a notable example of how architecture, interiors, and branding come together to

create a memorable dining destination.

Located in North Miami, UMA brings contemporary Peruvian cuisine to South Florida through a vibrant dining experience inspired by the energy of Miami and the rich culinary traditions of Peru. The restaurant was designed as a place where guests can gather, celebrate, and enjoy an elevated yet approachable atmosphere.

One of the key design goals was creating a connection to the ocean and coastal culture that influences both Peruvian cuisine and South Florida living. Throughout the restaurant, a suspended school of fish and marine-inspired elements were integrated into the space to bring the feeling of the ocean indoors. These features reinforce UMA's connection to seafood, nature, and waterfront living while creating a distinct
visual identity for the restaurant.

UMA reflects FORMGROUP's experience in hospitality design and project coordination. The project included interior design and architectural services, construction documentation, and consultant coordination, requiring close collaboration between ownership, operators, and the design team from concept through completion.

Led by our Director of Interiors, Alejandra Lorenzo, the project balanced operational requirements with a robust design vision. Through coordination and attention to detail, the team created an environment that supports both the guest experience
and the day-to-day needs of a successful restaurant operation.

We are proud to have been part of the team that brought UMA to life and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a project that celebrates culture, community, and hospitality.

As always, thank you for being part of the FORMGROUP story. We are grateful to our partners who share our passion for quality, detail, and design that makes a difference.
